New quote for book page
Pablo Picasso on Drawing -- from Brassi: Conversations With Picasso. c.1943
"I don't know. Ideas are simply starting points. I rarely set them down as they came to my mind. As soon I set to work, others seem to flow from the pen. To know what you're going to draw, you have to begin drawing it. If it turns out to be a man, I draw a man -- if it's a woman, I draw woman."
I want to just use the first part,
"I don't know. Ideas are simply starting points."
-Pablo Picasso

Making good design is easy. It’s polishing the half-assed stuff that takes time.
— Stefan G. Bucher
Design is intelligence made visible.

(random side note "First there were Picasso and Duchamp, then there was Jeff Koons."
-Jeff Koons [http://observatory.designobserver.com/entry.html?entry=6467] )
Now that we can do anything, what should we do?
— Bill Buxton
Design is where science and art break even.

Midterm Post
Midterm time and i haven't really put anything up here. Ill try and start with the earlier stuff and get more recent so it looks like i did this over the last couple months.
First project we did was to just draw some A's. We were told to pick a couple out of a group and I have pictures of those.
We've taken notes on names of typography names for the anatomy of letters, so i scanned those in too as a picture.
First big project we did was to make huge letters, I choose different fonts and different letters for each big letter. For that project i sketched out the letters while looking at a smaller version of them. Naturally them became different from my own stylization. The end product was traced by gold. looks sweet in the picture posted.
Besides designing this blog for a project, the last project we did was a bit mapped font, and than a hand drawn alphabet, as well as creating George Kuchar's Font (http://www.dafont.com/fr/kuchar.font).
I had to make e and f, which was easy concidering there as pictures of his handwriting, and those are common letters.
I choose space invaders for the bit-mapped font, and for the hand drawn, i looked at my own handwriting.
I wrote sentences after sentences, and would do quick alphabets before drawing out a bubble letter version of my hand style. I than clipped them out and glued them onto sticky notes which i gathered together on a black piece of paper for displaying.
And now here i am typing this up, and next week ill be snowboarding in Colorado.

In class Posting
New page design. More like my aesthetic. like simple colors but pastel greens and blues make the best attention grabbers without being to neon. Might change the font selections but they seem nice for now.
Catching up on how i feel about this class and school and my process.
printed my first 3d object. it worked out perfect but its all I've printed which is boring as fuck.
Got plans to print a moving object. So I'm excited. spent alot of time wrapping my mind around that. Second class of Tuesday and Thursday is this one. Why is type so late. why cant we do this at one in the afternoon. I enjoy what we do but have a motivation problem when its this late and all were doing is watching movies and reading the book assigned for class, in class. And designing how a blog looks? boring. but I'm getting more serious and diving into the world of it more.
This semester is filled with classes that I thought id enjoy and i haven't fallen in love with any of them yet. They all feel like a job or something because i end p doing the work but its out of time passing and not wanting to do it, like when i work on music or animations.

also wanna say that tumblr has way to many choices so im actually glad to make simpler looks on this format.
